Al-Koohji calls for strategic partnerships between public and private sectors between Bahrain and India

The Second Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mohammed Al Kooheji held a meeting with Special Chief Secretary of the Industries & Commerce and Information Technology Departments of the Telangana government, Jayesh Ranjan, in the presence of Bahraini Ambassador to India Abdulrahman Al Quood. The meeting took place while he was leading a trade delegation from the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry visiting India, as part of the Chamber's efforts to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries and explore new opportunities for investment and trade cooperation.


During the meeting, Al Kooheji emphasized the importance of enhancing economic and technological cooperation between the two friendly countries. He highlighted the benefits of leveraging India's leading experience in innovation, industrial development, and digital transformation, noting that Bahrain is rich in promising investment opportunities across various sectors, including food, financial services, technology, education, and aluminum manufacturing.


Both sides discussed prospects for cooperation in advanced technology, smart industries, and modern technologies in the industrial and telecommunications sectors, emphasizing the importance of strengthening partnerships between Bahraini companies and their Indian counterparts, which contributes to expanding the volume of trade exchange, knowledge transfer, and benefiting from shared experiences.
Al-Koohji stressed that India represents a key economic partner for the Kingdom of Bahrain, calling for the establishment of sustainable strategic partnerships between the public and private sectors in both countries, which contributes to achieving joint economic growth, enhancing innovation and entrepreneurship, and creating new investment opportunities that support sustainable development. He also highlighted Bahrain's strategic location, pointing out that the link between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia could serve as a major gateway to the largest market in the region.


For his part, Jayesh Ranjan confirmed the long-standing relations between India and Bahrain, expressing India's readiness to provide all necessary facilitation to support economic and investment relations and to enhance the business environment for entrepreneurs and investors from both sides. He also presented an overview of key investment opportunities and future cooperation areas in Hyderabad, affirming India's commitment to developing strong economic partnerships with the Kingdom of Bahrain.


He urged for holding bilateral meetings between startups and small companies in both countries, aiming to enhance knowledge exchange and cooperation in tourism, culture, and sports sectors, which are promising fields rich in significant growth and investment opportunities, contributing to supporting innovation and driving economic progress through the creation of new opportunities.
As part of enhancing scientific and investment partnerships in the biotechnology and life sciences sector, the delegation visited the Biotechnology Incubator Center in Hyderabad, India, which is one of the largest global clusters specialized in research and development in life sciences and biotechnology. Al-Kooheji discussed with Dr. Nevas Shyamala, the Director of the Biotechnology Incubator Center, ways to open new avenues for cooperation between the Bahraini private sector and its Indian counterparts, contributing to knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and benefiting from advanced expertise in this vital sector.
Al-Kooheji emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships between research institutions, startups, and Bahraini investors to benefit from rapid developments in life sciences, noting that this collaboration could positively impact the health and technology sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain and pave the way for establishing innovative projects that contribute to achieving sustainable development.


It is worth noting, that the delegation included several members of the Chamber's Board of Directors: Ahmed Al-Salloum, Youssef Salahuddin, Abdulwahab Youssef Al-Hawaj, and Ahmed Youssef Ali, along with a select group of Bahraini businessmen interested in expanding their investments in Indian markets.
