BAHRAIN AND CHINA

Potential Opportunities for Trade

China is the second largest economy worldwide and is one of Bahrain’s top trade partners. 2022 marks 33 years of diplomatic relations between the People’s Republic of China and the Kingdom of Bahrain, established in 1989.

The volume of trade between Bahrain and China exceeded $2.2 billion in 2021, a 15% increase compared to the previous year. There are promising opportunities for Bahrain to collaborate with China in these sectors, in addition to aviation, healthcare, automotive, energy, cosmetics and toiletries, and design and construction.

Bahrain’s top export potential to China is in ferrous products obtained from iron ore, aluminum, and food preparations.
