Oct 2022The volume of trade between Bahrain and China exceeded $2.2 billion in 2021, a 15% increase compared to the previous year. There are promising opportunities for Bahrain to collaborate with China in these sectors, in addition to aviation, healthcare, automotive, energy, cosmetics and toiletries, and design and construction.
In terms of untapped export potential to China¨ the first major commodity is ferrous products obtained from iron ore, with an estimated $17 million gap. This is followed by aluminium alloys, unwrought with an export gap of $15 million and plates, of aluminum alloys with an export gap of $6.4 million. Other potential exports from Bahrain to China include food preparations, non-cellular polyethylene terephthalate, parts & accessories of motor vehicles, and depilatories & other toilet/cosmetic preparations.
