“Bahrain Chamber highlights the importance of enhancing ties with Austria”

Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Sameer Nass, emphasized the importance of strengthening relations with the Austrian business sector to enhance trade and investment between Arab countries and Europe. He highlighted that this cooperation is intended to expand trade exchanges between Arab economies and the European Union, noting that the Arab market has become productive and possesses the human competencies and natural resources that have contributed to the growth of economic sectors in Arab countries. This came during his participation in the 14th Arab-Austrian Economic Forum in Vienna, organized by the Austro-Arab Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Union of Arab Chambers.

In celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Austro-Arab Chamber of Commerce, the President of the Bahrain Chamber called for deeper and more fruitful collaboration between Arab economic communities and the Austro-Arab Chamber. He emphasized the need to advance cooperation mechanisms in the trade, industrial, financial, tourism, and technology sectors, elevating them to the highest standards to keep pace with evolving global trends across various industries.

He also emphasized that the Bahrain Chamber is keen to strengthening its collaboration with the Austro-Arab Chamber to facilitate key decisions that advance sustainable economic development, a central focus of global efforts aimed at fostering prosperity. He expressed his aspiration to reach agreements that strengthen the Arab market's integration with global markets to increase trade exchange rates.

For his part, Vice treasurer and head of the committees’ steering group at the Bahrain Chamber, Waleed Kanoo, highlighted that digital transformation will significantly increase electricity consumption, posing a challenge to global efforts to achieve a green economy.

He emphasized the urgent need for alternative, sustainable energy sources that support environmental and climate protection, ensuring the continued progress of comprehensive development while preserving natural resources. Kanoo also called for increased investment and stronger government policies to advance the green economy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
