Bahrain Chamber hosts FICCI delegation, emphasizes strengthening Bahrain-India business ties

Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Sameer Nass, welcomed on Wednesday 15th January 2025 at the Chamber’s headquarters an Indian business delegation spearheaded by the President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), Girish Luthra. The meeting was attended by Second Vice-Chairman Mohammed Al Kooheji and board member Yusuf Salahuddin.


During the meeting, Nass highlighted the longstanding relationship between Bahrain and India, noting the trade volume between both friendly countries, which surpassed 1.1 billion US dollars in 2023. Nass emphasized the potential for further enhancing business relations and fostering joint ventures, underscoring the importance of exchanging business delegations to strengthen ties and benefit both business communities.


For his part, Al Kooheji, reiterated the chamber's commitment to enhancing collaboration with India through partnerships with local chambers and federations of chambers, recalling the successful visits made by the chamber to India in the past.


Similarly, Luthra praised the robust India-Bahrain relationship across various sectors, particularly in trade and commerce. He reflected on the deep-rooted history of trade and friendship between the two nations and identified finance, food, jewelry, and defense manufacturing as promising sectors, encouraging the Bahrain business community to explore and seize these opportunities.
