Bahrain Chamber Launches “Jadara Hackathon” to Drive Innovation in Entrepreneurship

The Bahrain Chamber has launched a new phase of the “Jadara” Award, titled “Jardara Hackathon”, an entrepreneurial program aimed at fostering innovation in the business environment by leveraging the expertise of academics, experts, investors, and entrepreneurs. This initiative is part of the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and enhance their competitiveness.

Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Sameer Nass, emphasized that “Jadara Hackathon” serves as a driving force for SMEs development. By merging academic expertise, investor insights, and entrepreneurial creativity, the program enables the creation of innovative business models that drive commercial success. He also highlighted the rapid transformations shaping the global economy and their impact on Bahrain’s market, emphasizing the need for entrepreneurs to enhance their resilience and implement adaptive strategies.

Vice-treasurer and Head of the Chamber Steering Committee, Waleed Kanoo, noted that “Jadara Hackathon” builds on the success of the “Jadara” Award, which has evolved over the years to recognize excellence in areas such as customer loyalty, capacity building, quality assurance, and digital transformation.

To further support Bahraini enterprises, the Bahrain Chamber has established the “Jadara Ecosystem”. A strategic framework designed to cultivate and develop business capabilities through innovative and sustainable solutions. Anchored in the KIC model (Knowledge, Investors and Competitors). The ecosystem features interactive workshops, an innovation driven hackathon, and a knowledge-sharing community to support entrepreneurial growth.

As part of “Jadara Hackathon”, five discussion sessions were held, bringing together past award winners with judges, investors, and industry experts. These sessions facilitated the exchange of best practices and innovative solutions to SMEs challenges while exploring ways to refine and scale winning ideas into viable, long-term business ventures.

By embracing cutting edge technologies such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and sustainability, “Jadara” seeks to position Bahrain’s private sector at the forefront of global economic shifts. The initiative also promotes green economy practices and eco-friendly solutions, ensuring that SMEs are not only competitive but also equipped to thrive in an evolving economic landscape.
