Board Members of BCCI: "King's China Visit: Boosts Bahrain's Trade"

Upon His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's visit to China, invited by President Xi Jinping, Bahrain Chamber board member Yaqoob Alawadhi emphasized the significance of the 35-year bilateral relations between Bahrain and China, highlighting that the non-oil trade volume between both countries reached approximately 2.36 billion US dollars in 2023, making China Bahrain's largest trade partner. He expressed optimism that this visit would pave the way for new economic opportunities and collaborations, especially in the IT sector, fostering innovation and mutual growth.


For her part, Board member, Sawsan Abualhasan emphasized the importance of bilateral investments in strengthening the relationship between Bahrain and China, noting Bahrain favorable environment for Chinese investors, with its strategic location, favorable business policies, and skilled workforces. Anticipating a surge in Chinese investments post-visit, Abualhasan identified Fintech, education, and agriculture as promising sectors. These investments, she emphasized, will not only enrich Bahrain's economic landscape but also serve as a pathway for Chinese companies to access the Middle Eastern market, fostering greater economic integration and mutual benefit.

For his part, Board Member Ahmed Yousif Ali highlighted that His Majesty's historical visit will be beneficial to Bahrain. Such visits will open new ventures for development and prosperity in all areas. The visits are aimed to foster knowledge exchange and to promote investment initiatives, with particular emphasis on bolstering projects within the construction, real estate, and logistics sectors. Additionally, he urged for stronger industrial and investment collaboration to align the Belt and Road Initiative with the development plans of Bahrain.
