In this regard, Sameer Abdullah Nass, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that the conference aims to develop future visions for issues and topics related to the current and future state of economic sectors. The goal is to overcome the obstacles they face by establishing a robust economic infrastructure that contributes to sustainability, development, and increased productivity of economic resources. This will help to ensure the continuous growth of businesses and drive further economic growth for the national economy in the medium and long term. Nass emphasized that infrastructure is a fundamental cornerstone for achieving economic growth, as it plays a significant role in driving the economy and increasing rates of economic development at the macroeconomic level.
He pointed out that the conference sessions aim to explore solutions that support the establishment of an enabling economic infrastructure by reviewing legislative gaps, incentives, and facilitations that support the private commercial sector. The sessions will also discuss mechanisms for cooperation to chart a future roadmap that opens new horizons and opportunities to ensure business sustainability. Additionally, the sessions will focus on identifying best practices that have led to the success and sustainability of various Bahraini companies and institutions, including the recognition of the winners of the "Jadara" award. The conference provides a platform for exchanging experiences and enhancing communication between the private sector and decision-makers, as well as a diverse group of experts in all sectors.
Nass highlighted that the conference will host one of the world's leading experts in business development, Verne Harnish, the founder and CEO of Scaling Up.
He added that the conference activities will include three panel discussions related to the local economy and ways to open up trade opportunities for the private sector to accelerate the achievement of strategic goals, including increasing economic flexibility, supporting prosperity, and sustainable growth.
Nass further announced that the winner of the first edition of the "Jadara" award, launched by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry for local commercial and industrial companies and institutions, will be announced during the conference. The award includes five categories: customer loyalty, capacity building, reliability and trust, digital transformation, and innovation and quality of food products. He explained that the award has two specific goals: to highlight the distinguished practices of small and medium-sized companies to stimulate innovation and creativity, and to constantly strive for sustainability and success in their operations. The award aims to make these companies an essential pillar of sustainable development and an effective tool in supporting the labor market and providing employment opportunities in line with the development plans and strategies of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
