President of the Union of Arab Chambers, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sameer Nasser, affirmed that the Arab world has creative youth energies and competencies in various fields to build a sustainable economic future and lead the development of industries in light of the outputs of the Fifth Industrial Revolution, which makes it a promising investment destination in the near future. He called for investing in Arab youth energies and enhancing actual and permanent participation to ensure its reflection on the overall Arab economic situation, which reached a value of about $3.5 trillion in 2024.
Nass said during the German-Arab Business Forum under the slogan: "Practicing Business with Impact: The Art of Building Lasting Relationships", which was held from June 3 to 5, 2024 in the German capital Berlin, that peace and stability are essential conditions for the prosperity of the economy, and he welcomed the call of Arab leaders at the Bahrain Summit to establish regional peace as the cornerstone for achieving economic sustainability. He explained that the issue of establishing economic relations that serve the Arab economies and create mutual benefits is one of the most important issues facing joint Arab work, which we must pay attention to in light of global economic developments. He pointed out that the forum aims to enhance cooperation between the Arab world and Germany in various fields and drive sustainable development in both regions.
The President of the Arab Chambers renewed his total rejection of wars and violence in all parts of the world due to their direct impact on economic and social stability and the increase in the burden of inflation and the exacerbation of tangible challenges at the level of economic policies. He expressed his full solidarity as a representative of the Arab private sector with the Palestinian people in their struggle to establish their independent state, calling for the need to accelerate the achievement of Arab economic integration to enhance opportunities for economic and trade cooperation and revive opportunities for developmental integration and then link it to global economic communities to achieve the greatest economic gains for our Arab countries.
For his part the First Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Khalid Najibi, pointed out that Arab-German trade relations have witnessed remarkable growth in the recent period, with the volume of bilateral trade reaching 62.1 billion euros in 2023. He attributed this to the commitment of the leaders of the two countries to facilitate and encourage commercial and economic cooperation, and the interest of the private sector on both sides in benefiting from the available opportunities to establish mutually beneficial trade relations and transactions.
Najibi emphasized Bahrain's keenness to strengthen the economic, commercial and investment relations and exchange of experiences with the Federal Republic of Germany, in line with the comprehensive development march of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The discussion sessions at the forum addressed important topics such as smart cities, artificial intelligence, logistics services and supply chain, tourism, and others.
