Marking the commencement of the Arab-Chinese Conference, Sameer Nass "Cooperation should be intensified in the high-tech sectors"

The President of the Union of Arab Chambers, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber Sameer Nass, stressed the importance of developing Arab-Chinese relations in various fields and economic sectors, pointing out that the "Arab-Chinese Economic Conference" organized by the Saudi Ministry of Investment in partnership with the Union of Arab Chambers, the GCC Secretariat-General, the Arab League, and the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade, under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, constitutes a new phase of Gulf and Arab cooperation with the Republic of China, which will drive cooperation and investments across many sectors.

In a statement he made marking the Arab-Chinese economic conference scheduled for June 11 and 12, Nass affirmed that China is an important partner for the Arab world, as the joint cooperation between them dates back over 1,500 years ago since the ancient Silk Road, which linked the Chinese and Arab civilizations. Nass highlighted the upward trajectory of Arab-Chinese trade, which has exceeded 319.295 billion dollars, noting that Chinese foreign direct investment in the Arab countries exceeded 23 billion dollars, an over two folds increase in the past 10 years.

Nass stressed that cooperation between the Arab and Chinese sides should be intensified, particularly in promising areas such as high-tech development, including 5G communications, renewable energy, space, digital economy and logistics.
