The Regional Network for Social Responsibility announced the establishment of the Family Business Council for Corporate Social Responsibility, with the honorary presidency of Sameer Abdullah Nass. This initiative aims to enhance the role of family businesses in supporting community initiatives and contributing to sustainable development, which comes in recognition of the significant role family businesses play in the economy, as they greatly contribute to economic growth and job creation.

The council aims to organize and guide the participation of family businesses in social, environmental, and economic projects that benefit the community and support the vision of sustainable development. It will also focus on empowering these businesses to adopt effective corporate social responsibility strategies and enhance collaboration with various sectors to ensure a positive and sustainable impact on both social and economic levels.

Second Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Mohammed Al Kooheji, emphasized that "the Chamber" is a key partner in activating the role of companies in fulfilling their corporate social responsibility. He noted the importance of adopting a comprehensive approach that contributes to achieving sustainable development goals, pointing out that the private sector plays a pivotal role in creating real and sustainable development, making it crucial for it to assume its responsibilities toward the community and achieve its developmental goals.

This was stated during his participation in the 2024 Corporate Social Responsibility Award event for companies in Arab countries on behalf of Mr. Nass, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Al Kooheji expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Board of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility in promoting the culture of corporate social responsibility in Arab countries and the Middle East.

He praised the significant role played by the network in encouraging and empowering the Arab private sector to adopt corporate social responsibility initiatives, through enhancing cooperation between companies, civil society organizations, and government bodies, reflecting a new dimension in corporate social responsibility programs. He highlighted the importance of the efforts made to enhance the concept of corporate social responsibility, especially in light of the rapid changes and developments occurring in the region.

The Regional Network for Social Responsibility has launched the "2024 Corporate Social Responsibility Award for Companies in Arab Countries" to honor companies that actively contribute to enhancing the concept of corporate social responsibility and its role in achieving sustainable development in the Arab world. The award serves as an important platform to recognize the efforts of the private sector in adopting community and developmental initiatives, encouraging companies to innovate in the fields of social and environmental sustainability.

For his part, the Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee for the 2024 Corporate Social Responsibility Award for Companies in Arab Countries, Professor Dr. Yusuf Abdulghafar, announced the establishment of the Family Business Council for Corporate Social Responsibility and the official launch of the activities of the "Arab Family Business Council for Corporate Social Responsibility."
