Bahrain Chamber meets Arab-Swiss Chamber to enhance cooperation , create economic partnerships

Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sameer Abdullah Nass, emphasized the Chamber's constant effort and work to enhance the economic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and global markets, and to attract Swiss companies to work in the Kingdom, especially in promising areas such as biotechnology, medical technology, nanotechnology, clean technology, renewable energy,  financial technology (FinTech) and financial investment, and value-added projects, in addition to contributing to the development of the solid bilateral relations between Bahrain and Switzerland, and enhancing the volume of trade exchange, based on the economic capabilities and potentials of both sides, and their important strategic location, where Switzerland's geographical location in the center of the most important European countries has made it one of the most important European transportation routes and has given it a prominent economic position, while the Kingdom of Bahrain represents a main gateway to the Gulf market.

This came during a meeting with the Arab-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on the occasion of a visit by a delegation from the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry to Switzerland, headed by Sameer Abdullah Nass, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and in the presence of Khaled Mohammed Najibi, First Vice Chairman of the Chamber.

The meeting discussed the available opportunities to further enhance partnerships and coordination between investors and businessmen, as well as mechanisms for exchanging information and expertise, encouraging technology transfer and vocational training, and establishing joint ventures in the industrial and commercial fields in Switzerland and the Arab countries, in addition to exploring ways to enhance cooperation through the establishment of a number of virtual forums and the exchange of trade delegations between the two sides, to create new business opportunities.

In turn, Najibi, First Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the Kingdom of Bahrain represents a distinguished and successful global model for rapid development, praising this model that the world can benefit from in supporting business sectors, and noting Bahrain's global position as a leading destination for doing business.

On her part, Hilda bint Ali Al-Hinai, Secretary-General of the Arab-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized the leading position that Bahrain occupies at the regional and global levels, as it is one of the preferred destinations for the business community in Switzerland, due to its business environment being similar to theirs, especially in relation to family businesses and small and medium enterprises.

She pointed out the importance of developing and strengthening trade relations with European countries, affirming the Chamber's commitment to continue its efforts to promote bilateral trade and investment between Switzerland and various countries of the world, through holding forums, organizing events and meetings, which represent a framework for unifying efforts and strengthening partnerships between businesspeople to serve the aspirations of the private sector and benefit the economies of both sides, in light of the many promising opportunities.
