The meeting aimed at enhancing coordination and cooperation among the committees and keeping members of the executive and administrative body informed of the goals and objectives of each committee for the following two years.
Speaking at the meeting head of the Committees’ Steering Group and vice-Treasurer Waleed Kanoo underlined the role of the committees in translating the board’s vision and goals into actionable plans, that serve revitalizing the private sector and streamlining its endeavors. He revealed the Chamber’s intention of conducting studies on the health sector, one on the impact of the National Health Insurance Program “Sehati” on the private sector, and another probing the shortage in health cadres in specific specializations.
Kanoo also announced plans in the food security dossier, including encouraging the private sector to establish a food packaging and distribution factory, and a food manufacturing plant. He also spoke about other projects pertaining to the education sector and matching educational outcomes to market needs, and commissioning a regulatory authority for the contracting sector.
